One of my accounts will no longer send, giving an R0107004 error.
For a few days, when I hit "Send" it would sometimes fail, but retry worked. Today, it abruptly stopped working. It gives the following message: "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: From address must match authentication [R0107004]. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again." The From address displayed matches the one on the account. Things look fine at the ISP. Receive continues to work on this account. The other two accounts, which use the same ISP, have had no problems. I am unclear what "Mail preferences" they want me to look at.
Chosen solution
'Tools' > 'Account Settings' for the mail account.
Account Name: usually the full email address.
Default Identity:
- Your name: this should show your name eg: Sue Caldwell
- Email Address: full email address. check for typos, no commas where there should be full stops or empty spaces etc. Try retyping.
click on OK to save any changes.
