Everything lost with new firefox sync

more options

I formated my PC, installed the new Firefox and, when I tried to sync, i found out I need to create a new account to the new Firefox sync. As I can't access my old account I have lost everything! I used my old email and password to this new sync but of course it didn't work as it is a new account.

So, how can a I recover my old account's data? Mozilla can't do a new service without migrating your data from the old one right?

You would have to install the previous Firefox 28 version in another directory if you want to access data on the Sync server of the previously used Sync version.

But it won't transfer my data to new sync. There is no way to migrate them?

See this for the correct way to update to the new Sync - How to update to the new Firefox Sync

Problem is I doubt if that will work now considering you used the same email address (username) as before.

Thanks the edmeister, but this procedure is for those whom already have theirs data. I'll try the following:

  1. Download old Firefox and sync with my old account;
  2. When it's done syncing, I'll upgrade to the new Firefox;
  3. Then, I'll unlink the old and relink with with the new sync service.

It's a shame Mozilla make all that noise for it's new service and it sucks at non migrating your stuff.
