The Ant downloader has attached its own website to Firefox. How do I delete it?
After a recent update, the Ant video downloader added its own webpage to Firefox. It appears every time, and although I have it blocked, the tab still appears and I get a site blocked notice. How do I prevent Ant from trying to load its webpage?

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar.
There are two settings;
- When Firefox Starts
When the browser is started, what do you want to display. Many of us choose Show My Home Page.
- Home Page
When a new page is opened, what do you want displayed.
- Use Current Page. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
- Use Bookmark
- Restore To Default. about:home shows a Mozilla home page with tools.
You can use any of these that you wish;
about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),
or you can enter any webpage or about: page you want.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. My own homepage comes up (it's my webmail) in the top tab, but another tab appears with the address " www.ant.com/video-downloader/ff-updated " I have checked the settings per your suggestions, for which I thank you, but the problem remains unsolved. I have disabled Advanced System Care surfing protection, but the problem persists.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, Firefox is able to open multiple home pages with the URLs separated by a 'pipe' (|), so please see - How to set the home page, and in 'Home Page,' make sure that in addition to your home page URL (the Firefox start page is about:home but you may have set a different one, or the New Tab page, which is about:newtab) it doesn't also have the 'Ant' URL - if it's there, just delete it, leaving ONLY your home page URL.
I've tried this. My email page, and only my email page is in the home page box. I cannot find the ant page anywhere in the home page setting, the tabs, or anyplace else.
This could be a problem with one of your add-ons.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
After, restart Firefox.
See "Corrupt extension files":

You will have to approve the updating one last time.
