I made a quick recording showing the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZt_9jyDhos

I get the same problems in Firefox on both Debian with Cinnamon (on my desktop) and Linux Mint Debian Edition (on my laptop). As you can see in the video, I've tried clearing cache, cookies, history, and extensions, but no luck.

Other solutions I've tried since making the video:

- disabled PIA VPN - created a new Firefox profile - turned off DNS prefetch - turned off IPV6

(I reverted each of these after they didn't work.)

List of things I've tried, in case it's helpful:

On my desktop:

◉ Created a new profile in Firefox, and the issue PERSISTED. ◉ Installed Brave, and while using it the issue WAS GONE. (As shown in the video; just re-stating this one.) ◉ Installed Waterfox, and while using it the issue PERSISTED. ◉ Booted to a live USB image of Debian with Cinnamon (+nonfree), and the issue PERSISTED. ◉ Booted to a live USB image of Debian with MATE (+nonfree), and the issue PERSISTED. ◉ Booted to a live USB image of Manjaro with KDE (+nonfree), and the issue WAS GONE. ◉ Booted to a live USB image of Pop_OS, and the issue WAS GONE.

On my laptop:

◉ Tried my normal installation of Mint Debian Edition, and the issue PERSISTED. ◉ Switched to the dual-boot installation of Pop_OS, and the issue WAS GONE. ◉ Booted to a live USB image of Debian with Cinnamon (+nonfree), and the issue PERSISTED.

---

Realization: Seems like the issue should be easy to reproduced by anyone; just boot a live USB of Debian, and there's a really good chance you'll experience the same problems loading imgur, exclusively on Firefox.

Here's the name of the exact image I reproduced the issue with:

debian-live-10.5.0-amd64-cinnamon+nonfree.iso

Ok, I SOLVED this.

Sort of. In a roundabout way.

I installed Firefox manually on both my Debian desktop and LMDE laptop, and the issue WAS GONE in both cases.

The version of Firefox that comes with Debian and LMDE still does not work properly. But I can use the the manually-installed version from now on without issue.

I will keep checking this thread for a few days, in case anyone cares to troubleshoot imgur not loading on the Firefox version(s) packaged with Debian/LMDE.
