When I tried to load a web site, (in this case games.co.uk) it stopped loading & in the bottom left hand corner I saw bs.serving-sys.com. When I put the mouse over it , it sifted to the bottom right hand corner & vice versa. What is it, is it dangerous, &, if so, how do I block it?

Yes, it looks like bs.serving-sys.com is an ad server, in which case it would be normal - does games.co.uk load correctly? It's likely that games.co.uk has put ads into their page; these ads then get retrieved by Firefox from bs.serving-sys.com to put into games.co.uk. This is most likely the cause of the message you're seeing.

The reason it shifts location when you hover your mouse over it is a new features in Firefox. With the new status bar, it can sometimes cover parts of a webpage that you want to see, so if you hover over it, it moves so you can see what is was covering.
