A while ago (sorry, can't remember exact date, around January or February) my Firefox browser got an update and reverted the downloaded Persona I had to the default one. And after that whenever I set the one I want it wouldn't stay. Whenever I close the browser and open a new one it reverts to said default Persona.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value.

Sorry, I tried that but it didn't work. Kinda frustrating, don't wanna reset every time I open a new browser.

The data of all installed Personas and its background color and text color are stored in the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref in JSON object format ({"id":"#","name":"xxx",...}).
The first entry of that pref is the currently selected Persona.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode (Never Remember History).

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
