After starting up Firefox, I do get a button in the taskbar, but when I click that button, nothing happens. I only get the Firefox window up, when I use the Windows Logo button in combination with the "arrow up"-key (maximize shortcut). After minimizing using the one of the two buttons in top-right-corner, the whole window disappears again. In this situation I can run Firefox only in maximized window, which is quite annoying. Can you please help.? Lody J. Claessen

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe mode with hardware acceleration disabled.

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
  • On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
