How can I use T-bird without entering a password every time?

more options

I just downloaded T-bird. It asks for a password each time I open the program. I tried to set up a master password so it would automatically enter the account password, but now it just prompts for the master password. How can I get the program to remember my password so I don't have to enter it? This is a home PC that no one else uses.

The master password is to protect access to any stored email account passwords. As you found out this has nothing to do with what you are trying to accomplish. When the email password dialog box appears fill in your email password and check the box for Thunderbird to remember the password.
