hi Cynthia.Wilson, from the data you've submitted, you appear to have malicious addons present. so please perform all these steps:

  1. reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  2. afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  3. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

Thanks for your solution. The free "Malwarebytes" version seems to have solved the problem.

The "adwcleaner" seems to be a superior product... it found 37 additional issues AFTER I had run the free Malwarebytes product. However, they require you to purchase their product to remove the malware. I did not purchase it because the problem appears to have been solved by free Malwarebytes version.

Thanks again.

hi adwcleaner is a freeware product as well - you don't have to buy it in order to remove the adware a search turns up. here is the direct download link (attention: download starts directly, you don't have to click on any links): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/
