I cant figure out how to enlarge my Icons or text on my browser toolbars for Firefox v46. They are small for any theme I use...including default. My eyesight is poor & I need larger sizes. My older Firefox didn't have this problem...the Icons & text were much easier to see. Please help me to use this browser, because I cant use what I cant see. Thank you.

You can look at this extension to adjust the font size in the user interface.

You can set a global zoom via the Options/Preferences of the extension (about:addons or the Tools menu) that modifies layout.css.devPixelsPerPx. Modifying layout.css.devPixelsPerPx affects user interface and web pages (global zoom).

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. There are size buttons bottom left.

This is probably a good site to be aware of http://www.accessfirefox.org/Firefox_Accessibility_Extensions.php It is a semi-official Mozilla community run site. IIRC the site and many of its add-ons were caught out by Australis. That is probably one site we should reach out to in advance if for instance making anything less distinct smaller, or lower contrast.

Cor-el,

This add-on for font-size changer works well with Windows 7. I needed my toolbars larger and I could not remember how to do it. Must have been the anesthesia affecting my brain from recent Rt. shoulder surgery this pass April 2016. I have the increase and decrease add-on but it on works for the web page or my email. I am glad I checked this place first than scrolling through the whole computer system. BTW, I had to chat with Norton and the guy that worked helped me stated that FF was far better than IE. That made my day.

Thanks for the responses.

Unfortunately, by the time the icons are perfect, the font is way to large on all the addons I tried.....making the browser unusable......The font size I need is about 1.30x ,but the all the icons are too small ( about 16x16)

What I need is for my text to be 1.30X & my Icons to be 32x32. Now, when I say Icons I mean all my Icons.....not just the browser default Icons....all the Icons.......see my OP Attachment.

I hope it's possible, otherwise I will have to abandon FireFox & go back to Pale Moon....who never went to this damn post Australis format, & the Icon sizes are perfect. ;)

Hi BobbyW, have you considered adjusting your global zoom factor? This is set on the top line of the dialog displayed by Theme Font & Size Changer and scales both text and icons globally throughout Firefox. Try 1.50 and see how you like it. You might need to dial back the text adjustment after enlarging everything.

I'm using that Theme Font & Size Changer addon........1.50 is way to large for the font, but the Icon sizes are larger, but not large enough (most are about 16x16 see the attachment above).....1.30x is the largest size I'd use for the toolbar text, but unfortunately the Icons remain too small at that size....at 1.50x it's better...but Icons still too small, & the text size makes it totally unusable. Scaling back the text also scales back the web page text too, & that's no good. Some of the Icons are usable, but the Icons on my Custom Buttons never get larger.....like I said I need ALL the Icons larger, not just the default browser Icons.

Don't all the icons scale? I don't use any custom button extensions, so I am not sure how they behave.

What if you set the global to 2.0 and then reduce the font size by setting Size to 10 ?

more options

No, all the Icons dont scale.....at 2.0 the fonts are all way too large on the webpages, & scaling back does not correct the webpages...only the toolbars.

Sorry for all your trouble, but I've made my decision.

Since FF went to Australis I've had nothing but grief trying to get my important addons to work with it....I've made too many tradeoffs already....this was the proverbial last straw attempt I'm was prepared to make, & it wouldn't come true.

I'm going to the Pale Moon Browser ......It uses a pre-Australis interface, but with all the forked inner-workings (ones that are important) of the latest FF versions, & it uses the Goanna engine instead of Gecko.

Thanks again
