Everytime I open Firefox I get a page from Video Download Helper. How do I get rid of this page once and for all?

Since two days, everytime I open firefox an extra tab opens up from Download Helper. I close it everytime, but it's getting annoying. I've tried the Extra - Options screen, I've tried the Help with Firefox screen , I can't seem to find a solution. Please help me get rid of it before I might toss my screen out the window in a few days...

Did you check for problems with the file prefs.js in the Firefox Profile Folder and rename or delete the file?

Windows may be hiding the .js file extension, so check the Properties via the right-click context menu to be sure.

Well I found the folder, but there are so many different icons, I have no idea what to look for. None of them is named recognizable to me. Sorry to be such a none-helper :(

Look for something called prefs (Prefs as Windows may capitalize it).

I found two icons, named prefs. One is "Corrupted and unreadable" but cannot be deleted due to this fact and when I click the other it says Error.

What would be the right thing to do with these?
