Firefox cannot connect to a local servers subdomain if no network connection available.
Hello there,
I have a laptop which is configured as a local server using Apache. On it I use 'localhost' as the domain and have several subdomains. Now, if I have no network connection (to any other device) available on this laptop, then with Firefox I am only able to access the domain 'localhost' but none of the subdomains and get a 'Server not found' error on these. If I do have a network connection, I can access the domain and subdomains without any problem.
What could it be and what can I do to get it to work without a network connection? I also tried it with Opera and Chrome and they can access the subdomains either way. Sadly however I prefer Firefox, so yeah.. here I am.
Kind regards Song

Did you troubleshoot your network connection on the Options menu? Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can
If the internet did not set up correctly you may have a firewall set up? http://www.aboutdebian.com/network.htm is what I used as a reference.

Thanks for the quick reply guigs2,
setting 'network.dns.disableIPv6' to false (default is true) did the trick.
That's one thing I didn't try out the when I read through Firefox and other browsers can't load websites the first time around... Oh well.
Cheers!
