Did you ever installed a Firefox beta version?
Possibly Test Pilot. You didn't post the troubleshooting with a list of your installed extensions.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
Wasted another half an hour of my life on this fricking bug laden app...
This error is appearing when I quit FF even when all add-ons are disabled.
I had to repost that fact here:
Script: chrome://browser/content/browser.js:16399
because my post was not indexed in my Profile Questions page. How long does it take for that to become current?
Never used a Beta; I only update when I get a notification; now using v31
Troubleshooter add-on disabled in safe mode, which is what I had to use to post the message. That add-on needs to optionally run in safe mode.
Yea always blame hardware accelleration. Its OFF. At least last time I looked it is.
Why is FF so damn buggy?
How do I create a file listing the names of all the add ons in my profile?
I think I want to just completely erase FF from my computer (how do I do that?) and start over with a new installation.
All I want are the "known good" security add-ons: DoNotTrackMe AdBlockPlus Disconnect Ghostery
But Ghostery has a bug:
GHOSTERY STARTUP ERROR:

And I need to keep open 150+ tabs so I need to be able to restore them with Session Manager but the developer has no means of being contacted -- his mozilla.org page never connects & there is no email even though he claims there is on the info page.
And Mozilla Archive Format seems to be necessary to save web pages similar to Safari "web archive."
Is it really too much to be asking for this minimal level of functionality ???
And I'm not a developer, but I do know that after some period of time FF always becomes Not Responsive while I'm using it.
I really believe that its because FF is not handling a runaway script somewhere in my many open tabs (even though I think FF is set to not load a tab until I click on it).
Then Session Manager fails to handle script when it tries to reload the session.
So what I think I need is for FF to load the URL into the tab on startup, so that it appears in my Window list of web pages -- but not actually "contact" the web page until I click on the tab. Then it won't have a bunch of web pages all trying to run scripts at the same time.

Modified
Tried reloading a session, apparently from FF built-in restore function. Long periods of over 100% CPU usage alternating with Not Responding. Five or 10 minutes, I went and did other things.
Finally got a script error:
Script: chrome://browser/content/tabbrowser.xml:2455
which I have seen before. What tab does this belong to? Or is it something within FF itself?
But even after stopping that script, FF became Not Responsive again. So I force quit & here I am again.
hello, i think it's best to proceed by creating a new profile: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles
Uninstall Firefox from your computer {web link}
