Each time I go to any site on Firefox 34.0.5 I crash on a survey script at: http://passets-ak.pinterest.com/webapp/js/app/common/external-1.877e9f1f.js:3

I'm on Firefox 34.0.5. Every website I go to tries to push me (with a script) to the same compensatory survey with the same quoted language:

"Dear Pinterest.com user,

Congratulations! You have been randomly chosen to receive some exclusive gifts from our team (all worth over $50!)

We ask that you first participate in a quick, 30 second survey about your Pinterest experience. (survey is 100% anonymous)"

The script is at: http://passets-ak.pinterest.com/webapp/js/app/common/external-1.877e9f1f.js:3

As per usual, it offers to debug, cancel or repeat.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

You can check for issues caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
