Thunderbird is an email client program that runs on the computer it is installed on. So, if you cannot install Thunderbird on the work computer then you cannot run thunderbird on the work computer.

If you have a home computer and want to read work emails, then install Thunderbird on home computer and create a mail account to access your work email address server, but tthey must provide pop or imap and smtp access to their server.

There maybe a workaround which might work for you. There is a Portable version of Thunderbird which can run from a usb. So does not need to be installed on the computer. See more info at these links:
