Keyword URL no longer works

I just want my search bar and URL bar to search Google.co.uk, instead of google.com.

I've tried changeing Keyword.URL but this no longer seems to have any effect

I've tried installing the plugin from http://mycroftproject.com/ but the plugins are useless!!

It seems this is impossible to do without having going back to older versions of Firefox. Any simple add-ons that can grep google.com into google.co.uk?

Any ideas?

You can use the Keyword Search extension to specify which search engine to use for searching via the location/address bar and the about:home and about:newtab pages.

What do you mean by useless? Did the new plugin show up on the search bar as the last icon? Does it not work if you click it to send a query to it? If it works as a "one-off" search engine, then you can make it your default on the Search Options page:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Search

Also, the forum software detected your Firefox as version 35. Is that correct?

Version 35 is not secure; Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. Is something holding you back from upgrading to Firefox 40? Please let us know so we can suggest solutions or workarounds.

Note: If you are concerned about Video Downloadhelper, there is an update that fixes the problems it had with Firefox 36.

If Help > About Firefox shows Firefox 40.0.2, you may need to clear the preference that is misreporting your version number. See: How to reset the default user agent on Firefox.
