My modem was replaced and now firefox does not work. I have been told to update or download again. Can you help me?

My newer modem is a faster speed. It came from my cable company. I have a MacBook Air. I can get Safari to work, but not Firefox and I need to have that browser for the work that I do.

Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Thank you for your help. I could not open Firefox, but now I can. My cable company is frustrating, but after a few tries everyday, I can not open Firefox which I love.
