I see you apparently posted from an alternative browser from a 64 bit Windows 7 system

You should be able to open Firefox from the start menu options or maybe the taskbar. If everything else fails use a comandline

Use Keyboard Shortcut 'Windows Key + R to get the comandline box and then type or paste in firefox.exe and press Enter.

Did one of those methods work can you now start Firefox ?

Creating desktop shortcuts is a Windowws problem, but this is directly related to a Firefox issue so I will try to give a brief explanation of how to do that. Find the Firefox program, that is firefox.exe you should be able to search for that using the search option in the start menu. Or you can use the File explorer and navigate to it. On a standard install it is going to be at

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

I think on all Windows versions it will drag to the Desktop possibly holding the Right button down and give an option to create a shortcut on the Desktop.

Pleas post back to say if that works or wheter you need more help.

Hi   !

'Hope this will work for you:

  • Resize the Firefox window so you can see both your desktop and the Firefox window on the same screen.
  • Click on the icon on the left of the address bar   (where the URL is shown).
  • While still holding the mouse button down,   move the pointer to  the desktop,   then release the mouse button.

Good luck   !
