The spell check should auto capitalize words such as "i" in a sentence or at the beginning of a sentence and it does not. Is there a way to fix this?

because it is spell checker, not a grammar checker. i is spelled correctly.

Yes but "i" by itself is not a word and should be caught by the spell checker.

i. Yes it is. ii. See?

I have used auto correction that insists i.e. should be I. E. because it had a narrow set of ideas about "I", and about a period meaning only a full stop but never anything else, such as an abbreviation.
