I get a orange page that ask me to upgrade firefox. the last time I did this it gave me a virus. How can I prevent this loading on my browser?

I get this orange page on my computer that says I need to do urgent upgrade. It has the Firefox logo in middle of page. The last time I did this it gave me a Virus. I do have Virus protection. However it over rode it.Is there a way that I can keep this from appearing on my computer. Thank You in advance.

Scammers have been using this tactic,   trying to get users to download and infect their computer. Hard to get rid off,   as they will change their   URL   on a daily basis. You could consider this ad-blocking add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/addon/ublock-origin
