Since Firefox was updated, I can't find where to create a new bookmark. Where do I click to create a new bookmark?

When I click on the star icon, I see a list of my current bookmarks. How do I create a new bookmark?

When I click on the star icon, I see a list of my current bookmarks. How do I create a new bookmark?

Chosen solution

Are you sure you click the star in the location/address bar?

Does the star (Bookmark this Page) in the page actions drop-down list behave the same way?

Hi, to create a bookmark, you need to click on the star in the address bar at the right-hand end. (The star with a sideways square bracket under it, is the bookmarks menu button, which is now separate from the bookmarking star - as it used to be in the past).

See Bookmarks in Firefox.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!

Clicking on the star just pulls up a list of my existing bookmarks. It is not allowing me to create a new bookmark.

It should not be doing that. When you click it it Offers the Name as per the sites Title tag, what folder you want to save it to, and can add comments.

Baring that there are more ways and that is to move mouse to top of Firefox and Right Click and tick Menu Bar which will give you the Menu including Bookmarks. You can drag Url's from the Address Bar to any where in Bookmarks

https://www.howtogeek.com/333110/how-to-customize-firefox-quantum-and-remove-the-white-space-around-the-title-bar/

From the 3 Bar Menu (far right) Click then Library and Click, you can Bookmark from here.

From the 3 Bar Menu (far right) Click Customize you are now able to drag the Bookmarks Menu any where as well can add the Library if want to. While there you may want to Click the Download Button and un-hide it.

So now that know where everything is. You should consider a Refresh to get the Star working properly (we hope) : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

Can you Check if the 3 Dots next to the Star open a menu when clicked please. Is just for you to find and know it is working or not.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Note that this is the star they you see duplicated in the three-dot (...) page action menu drop-down list.

The only way I was able to solve the problem was to refresh Firefox. However, to save bookmark now requires going into Bookmark History, Bookmarks, Bookmark This Page. TOO MANY CLICKS. The old way wasn't broken so why would they change it?

Don't you still see the star in the location/address bar?

Did you click the 3-dot button to see what items it has in its drop-down menu?

When you click on the star button, you get a list of already existing bookmarks. There is no option to create a new bookmark in this drop-down menu.
