I've just logged into Firefox today and all but four of my passwords have been deleted over the years. What caused this and is there a way to recover these? I was using Firefox Sync - so I'm hoping there is an old version somewhere in the cloud which can be restored....

If you use the Time Machine or other backup then try to restore file(s) from this backup.

You would need the logins.json and key4.db files.
