When opened from another application (Windows), Thunderbird sends the email right away. Can this be changed?

We use Thunderbird for email on Windows. We use a third party application which uses the default mail client to send emails. Prior to the most recent update, this would open a "Write Email" window in Thunderbird. With the most recent update, it sends the email instantly without giving us a chance to change the message body or subject. Is there any way to get Thunderbird to stop sending the email immediately?

There's a bug in the current release related to sending from 3rd-party apps. Reverting to TB 60.5.1 should restore the correct behaviour.
