Ghostery is enabled in Firefox. In Firefox I get a message "your browser is being managed by your organisation" I thought this came from Avast but I have uninstalled Avast and still get the same. Is this blocking Ghostery?

You can inspect the Mozilla and Firefox keys with the Windows Registry Editor in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and possibly in HKEY_CURRENT_USER with the Windows Registry Editor to see whether GPO policy rules are active.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\

Note that the mere presence of the "MozillaFirefox" key is sufficient to make Firefox display this notification, so if you have the Firefox key then remove it and only leave the Mozilla key or remove this key as well if it is empty.

Ghostery worked before, but is not working on my computer any more. I installed it, de-installed it, but the icon remains grey ... I found the some explanations on this page, but I do no see Mozilla under Policies. How to make Ghostery work again? Thank you for any helpful info
