In the Library window (show all bookmarks/history), pressing Delete deletes any highlighted item, but Shift+Delete grays the item out without deleting it.

I was wondering too, until i checked for it, and it seems that it is similar to CUT function, i was able to paste it to another bookmarks Folder

Hope this helps.
