Windows 10, "send to/mail recipient" in background without opening the Thunderbird main program

In Windows 10, I would like to use the context menu item "send to/mail recipient" in background without opening the Thunderbird main program. This is, because I want to avoid to download waiting POP3 messages every time I need to send an attachment by mail. Former Outlook Express and Outlook can do this.

Is there a tweak for Thunderbird to do it?

If TB isn't open when you apply the context menu item, then set the POP account to not download messages at startup. If TB is open when you do it, uncheck the option to download from the POP account every N minutes, and initiate downloads manually from Get Messages. It's possible to configure TB to send in the background, but you can't send without the program being open.
