Why doesn't FF have the option to open ALL things I click on in a new tab anymore? How do we get them to replace it again? I HATE when I click on something and it uses the tab I have and goes to the new page in that tab. Then I have to go back and forth and it's rather stupid not to have that ability anymore

Hi, Firefox has never opened links in a new tab by default.

You can right click > Open Link in New Tab, click the mouse wheel or hold down Ctrl when you click the link.

You can also try -

If you want only bookmarks to open in a new tab, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter and accept any warning, then copy and paste the following into the search box browser.tabs.LoadBookmarksInTabs Now on the search result, click the Toggle button at the right-hand end to change from False to True.

If you are referring to search results, you need to look at the settings on your search engine's results page: In Google for example, search for anything - to open the results page, then > Settings > Search Settings > 'Where results open,' and select 'Open each selected result in a new browser window.'

In the old Firefox, I was given a choice to open EVERYTHING in a new tab with just one click of the left mouse button. I don't WANT to use two or three keys to open anything in a new tab, just one simple left click and walla, it opens in a new tab. That was how it USED to be. WHY do they change things to make it MORE difficult? Doesn't make sense...

MAYBE this was an option in "TabMix Plus" ?? Sure wish I had THAT back! Another thing Mozilla screwed up, all the old add-ons. That is one I miss more than anything!!! Now we have hardly any control over tabs!

For control over where tabs open, please consider this previously referenced extension:

What other features of the old Tab Mix Plus do you miss? Some were added as built-in options, some are covered by extensions, and some are not possible due to restrictions on extensions changing the behavior of the toolbar area in Firefox 57+.

I could choose the size of the tabs and color them as to which one I was on, ones that were read etc. But the size was the greatest one. I don't like 2" wide tabs. I could lock them, so something wouldn't over ride it and change it. The extension mentioned above I tried out and do not like it at all. If I have to read about how to make an extension or add on work, I don't want it. It SHOULD be self explanatory. I'm just not happy with the way Firefox has gone. It has taken away our freedom to be different and is getting so much like Chrome it's not funny. I get so frustrated with having to change the way I do things anymore.
