Running latest Firefox but an update is still being loaded. Why?
Within my Settings is the section: Firefox Updates There it shows that I'm running Version 97.0.2 (64bit) My settings are such that Firefox will automatically install updates.
So far so good, I guess. But below that is a notification that Firefox is "Downloading update" of 11.7 MB.
So why is an update being downloaded? What is it if I'm already using the latest Firefox? I'm confused

Actually, there is a Firefox 98.0 available since Tuesday, but it is trickled out at first to watch for major problems, so not everyone gets it simultaneously.
Firefox 98.0 released March 8, 2022 https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/98.0/releasenotes/
Hi folks,
Thanks for your responses but according to Firefox I haven't asked any questions for the past year or more - actually since March 2021.
Clicking on my profile offers no help whatsoever and apparently there are no messages in my inbox either, or so Firefox tells me.
Dare I say that this is why I seldom bother to come here to Firefox Support - it's utterly useless when it comes to checking for useful information - the "enter a few keywords" idea simply doesn't work - it's amazing what junk is returned as possible solutions.
Accordingly I've learned my lesson and won't bother visiting 'help' again - not until humans take over the controls once more.
(It's actually taken me over half an hour to find this link but regardless of that success, I take back nothing from my earlier comments.)
Regards and best of luck.

Did you receive a notification of a new reply to an old thread? That sounds like a glitch with notifications.
