trying to sort bookmarks by name and it does not sort.
Sort bookmarks not working. Want to sort by name my bookmarks in a folder called other bookmarks.

You can only sort the contents of a folder via "Sort By Name" in the right-click context menu of this folder.
Did you try to right-click the Other Bookmarks folder in the sidebar or in the left panel in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) ?

What is wrong with Mozilla? How can they possibly not sort EVERYTHING by name? This is beyond retarded. Its lobotomized retarded. They make a great browser that is excellent in so many ways, then ruin their bookmark system by doing this. The world sorts things alphabetically yet Mozilla seems to live in an alternate universe!
We should be able to sort the top folder by name then from then on EVERYTHING under it will also be sorted by name. But no. Sort the top folder by name and all the contents of the subfolders need to be each sorted by name. Imagine if you have 1000 folders which many of us do. That's "sort by name" 1000 times. When will this company/organization/whatever wake up?
For those of you as perplexed as myself, there is a solution. Get an Add-On that sorts bookmarks intelligently. I found this one but there are surely others. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sort-bookmarks-webext/ Everything will now be sorted alphabetically/intelligently/logically, unlike before. Its like finally stepping outside of the insane asylum. Sanity awaits.
