Hi

Firefox 102.

I have multi-accounts containers and pinned two tabs for two twitter accounts.

In one of these accounts I copied a link to a tweet and wanted to open it in the other account. So I selected the right tab and past the link in the address bar and press enter. Firefox then opened this url in a new tab instead of the current pinned tab. It seems pinned are locked but there is no context menu entry to unlock them without having unpin them.

Is there a hidden option in about:config that would allow to change the url of a pinned tab ? I want a pinned tab that work the same way as a regular one if I want to.

The difference could be if you click a link on the page or type the URL in the location bar.

I found the culprit. browser.urlbar.openintab was enabled.

Only links to the same top level domain open in a pinned tab. If you go to another domain then the link is opened in a new unpinned tab.

I paste a https://twitter.com/user/status/tweet.id link to a pinned tab where the url is https://twitter.com/home and it still opens in a new tab in the default container.
