Hi,

I'm looking for a trick to prevent Firefox mobile to force screen orientation to landscape mode when playing a video in fullscreen mode.

This is an old complaint (see this 2018 bug) but at the time there was a key in about:config to change the behavior ("media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation").

Since "media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation" is now useless (according to this bug) I'm clueless.

Thanks in advance if you have any.

Hi

YouTube videos are presented in a landscape format. By default, when your Android device is in a portrait orientation, the video is already filling a large part of the screen. If you select the full screen view in YouTube, the video expands to fill screen as you have requested.

Thanks for your answer and sorry for my late return.

If you select the full screen view in YouTube, the video expands to fill screen as you have requested.

Actually, if my screen orientation parameter is configure as "Locked", my request is not to rotate the video but to get only the video on the screen which is quiet different.

Maybe that's a misuse of the fullscreen word or a semantic disagreement but the possibility to have nothing but the video in portrait mode should exist as it has when the "media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation" was still operative. The attached example speaks for himself.
