Thunderbird 115.3.3 New update today since then unable to retrieve new emails. a windows pops up "Microsoft - trying to sign you in" this says up for a few seconds then closes, a few seconds it comes up again.

no error messages, no password requests. This is the same for all office365 accounts.

Gmail accounts seem to work fine

Same problem. The default authentication setting - "OAuth2" -- doesn't work, nor does "encrypted password". I had to set to "normal password", but that sounds like "no encryption". Is that true?
