Hello,

For the past couple weeks, comments on WSJ articles and opinions have not shown up in Firefox. They show up just fine if I use Edge. I'm running Firefox 128.0.2 on a Windows 10 computer.

I run uBlock origin. I tried disabling it, but that has no effect on the problem.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, never mind. I "cleared cache" today and the comments are loading properly again.

Note that you can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl+F5" or press "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command+Shift+R" (Mac)

I didn't realize I could bypass the cache that way. I'll keep that in mind if this sort of thing happens again.

WSJ comments not appearing: I use Firefox on Mac, had this problem for several months. It finally became annoying enough that I looked into it seriously. Disabled all my ad blocking/tracker extensions, cleared all cache, restarted FF. No luck.

Started with the FF settings, Privacy and Security, Browser Privacy, which were set to Strict (same in Custom with Tracking Content in all windows). (clear cache, restart) Still no comments.

When I changed Tracking Content to only private windows and added WSJ to the Enhanced Tracking exceptions, Comments appear correctly.

So it appears WSJ is using some sort of tracker that's required to now get comments? (still working on MarketWatch but it's not as useful to me).

Update: Added Barrons and MarketWatch to the Enhanced Tracking Exceptions and now comments show up correctly. Settings are still Strict and all extension blockers are enabled.

After I cleared cache over a month ago this problem has not recurred for me.
