I want to downgrade to 3.6.x. I have a Mac. Do not understand what "uninstall" means OR how to do it. Thoughtful person at home "upgraded" me BUT alas 4.0.x NOT compatible with work!

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

  • Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
  • Install the new version that you have downloaded

Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Unfortunately this doesn't answer the question, "WHAT is an UNINSTALL?" AND how to do it. The comment suggests an INstall of 4.0.x. I want to UNINSTALL 4.0.x and reinstall 3.6.x.

You can uninstall an application by dragging it from the application folder on the hard drive to the trash.

I have similiar problem someone upgraded me to a system that does not work on my home mac computer - how can I get the old version back as now I have no internet

I did this and lost all my bookmarks. Fortunately, I have the "Xmarks" add-on, and could download them from a remote server.

But telling everyone that they won't loose bookmarks is wrong. Not everyone has a backup.

Plus, where does one find Firefox 3.6.x to download? It looks like you are pointing them to Firefox 4.0.x which was the program they want to get rid of.
