Running FireFox 5 with Windows XP. When menu bar is hidden, the minimize, resize and close buttons don't work. Tried to reset toolbars in safe mode, same thing happens. Showing the menu bar brings the buttons back to normal function. Thank you!

I can't find anything exactly like this in Mozilla help. Some people have reported disappearance of the buttons. When I go from show to hide menu bar, there is a delay where the title bar disappears but after a few seconds in comes back.

You might have a corrupt places.sqlite file. Please see this article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite

Incidentally, your VLC player is seriously out of date which exposes your system to attack. Please see this article because your player is much older than the one described there: Buffer overflow vulnerabilities in VLC Player

There have been a couple more since then and the latest release which is 1.1.11 fixes all of them. Download from here: http://www.videolan.org/
