How do I prevent iterations of Adobe Flash in Firefox from freezing my computer entirely, as has happened multiple times today?

Whenever I am using a Flash-based application within Firefox, there are certain times when the Flash application crashes that it will actually lock up my entire desktop. I can't click on anything nor am I able to use basic OS commands like Ctrl+Alt+Delete. The only solution is to restart my entire computer. Obviously I don't want to have to restart my computer every 45 minutes or so (because Flash apps are everywhere), so a fix for that would be great.

Make sure you have the latest version. Or try uninstalling and installing it.
