Chosen solution

You need this pref: dom.disable_window_move_resize

  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

Hello cor-el, The first 2 links detail how to stop Java scripts from preventing me re-sizing a window. This is not the problem. I need Firefox to prevent java scripts re-sizing windows. (to be sure I changed 'dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable' to false, and it had no effect). The 3rd reference you give seems to be what I need, but there is no 'Allow scripts' tab in my version of Firefox (6.0). Still no solution, Jim
