Try to delete the file mimeTypes.rdf in the Firefox Profile Folder

I did step one above but the next instruction is much too cryptic for me.

I looked at the link but did not see a reference to e-mail actions.

I am taking it you are using v7.0.1

Because there is... Go to Options > Options > Applications and there it is...
