Why can't I back out of web sites after visiting them?
I have the latest version of FireFox I believe. I still have problems when , after visiting a web site, I then try to back out of it by either pressing the "back" arrow button or pressing Alt and the left arrow keys. It won't back out of the web site and I have to click on the "Home " button to go to the page I want. I also keep getting the message that "FireFox needs to resend data.." or whatever it says. Another problem I have had is the FF home page screen is too wide for my monitor and I can't see the right scroll bar, so I can't navigate up and down. This is so aggravating. Is FF always going to be this difficult?
Thanks

Back/Forward Home don't work in 7.0.1 due to network.http.max-connections being upped to 256, reduce back down to 32.
Extensions that may interfere with Back Button, and these are already listed in Problematic extensions for other reasons
- McAfee Site Advisor see 805964 (update perhaps 3rd week July 2011)
- Yahoo Toolbar (https://support.mozilla.com/questions/845691)

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resizing_oversize_window Use Alt+SpaceBar to move or resize, especially if you have a problem grabbing edges of a window.

Does it work if you open the tab history list by holding down the mouse button and select earlier entries?
You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form.
Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form.
Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time.
A way to prevent that pop-up is not to use the Back button, but to open links from a page that was requested from a server by sending a POST form in a new tab (window) with a middle-click or a Ctrl + left-click.
Then you can close that tab or window to go back.
I don't understand this part of your answer: open links from a page that was requested from a server by sending a POST form in a new tab (window) with a middle-click or a Ctrl + left-click.
Then you can close that tab or window to go back.
Also this kind of thing doesn't happen with Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, that I have seen so this seems like a flaw in FireFox to me.
