I can't activate a side bar in the latest version of Firefox

Chosen solution

{ Ctrl + B } opens and closes the Bookmarks Sidebar
As long as you keep the Sidebar open when you close Firefox, it should be there the next time you open Firefox. If not, the localstore.rdf file in your Profile folder is partially corrupt.
