Netflix support says I have to contact you, since my browser might be corrupted? I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, same problem. I just get this same page, listing the system requirements, all of which I meet. I have Windows XP 64 service pack 2, and use Firefox 11. I tried to check my plug-ins, and tried to update Silverlight, but again got a message that I didn't meet system requirements. Very frustrating!! This is the message I constantly get: Instant Watching System Compatibility Complete System Requirements

To watch instantly, youll need a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:

   Windows
Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Vista or Windows 7
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher; or Firefox 3 or higher; or Chrome 7 or higher
       1.2 GHz processor
       512 MB RAM
   Mac
An Intel-based Mac with OS 10.4.11 or later
Safari 3 or higher; or Firefox 3 or higher; or Chrome 10 or higher
       1 GB RAM
   Chrome OS
A Google Chromebook with Chrome OS 13 or higher

Try creating a fresh Firefox profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles), see if it works there. If it does, then you probably have a corrupted profile.

Read Recovering important data from an old profile, it will help you transfer your information from your old profile to your new one

I'm assuming you have silverlight installed on your computer?

more options

No, it doesn't show up in my plug-ins. Do I need it?

I am pretty sure that is what Netflix uses to display media. Try installing it from http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

I am unable to install it, get the following error message: Message ID: 1518

Your operating system does not support the 64-bit version of Silverlight. Clickhere for the latest version of Silverlight.

Did you accidentally download the 64 bit version of silverlight? try the 32 bit version.

Silverlight site automatically downloads 64 bit version. I tried 32 bit from another site, but still doesn't work. Same problem. Got some help from Microsoft in downloading correct version of Silverlight, works now.

Hello frustrated82,

Try clearing you Java cache, and History.

If you're not sure how to do that go here. --> I'm a Link.

If you still have problems, and are running a 64 bit processor you may want to install Waterfox instead of Firefox. While you install Waterfox, you should update you plugins.

Java isn't used by Netflix, so that unfortunately won't help anything. Also, Waterfox isn't an official version of Firefox, use at your own risk.

Tylerdowner,

Note, that the list of plugins on the Download page includes the latest version of the silverlight plugin. However, it is the 64 bit version like Waterfox.

Waterfox is the unofficial 64 bit version of Firefox, and will support the 64 bit silverlight plugin.

Like always, use at your own risk.

After downloading correct version of Silverlight, netflix works again.

Your system details indicated Windows Server 2003... not Windows XP x64.
