Tab homepages. Add on also won't go away?
So I was on MLB.com and I saw this advertisement about getting personas for your favorite teams so I decided to click on it. Turns out I was tricked into downloading this addon called "Brandthunder". I removed the persona and the addon since it was filling up my toolbar space with useless junk. The only part that is still on my firefox that won't go away, is in tabs. Usually when I open a tab I have the blank grey page with the squares (i'm guessing for tab groups?). But now I have this silly page for a websearch by "Brandthunder", when I really just want the blank grey page when I create a new tab. How do I revert to old settings?
Chosen solution
enter "about:config" into the adress bar, search for the "browser.newtab.url" setting & right-click it in order to reset it to the default value ("about:newtab").

Ok, I got that. Do you know what the name of the default firefox tab is called? Like what do you put in for the value to just get that blank grey page for tab groups and what not?
ah sorry, meant to say the default value was "about:newtab" & a totally blank white page like before firefox 13 would be "about:blank"
Ah yes. Ok. By any chance would you know what the firefox 13 name of the tab would be? That is what I am looking for. Sorry for being so vague.
oh wait. Never mind. Thanks for the help!
about:newtab is the default name
If you still have Personas Interactive installed, you can go into the preferences and just uncheck the box on the Search page that says "Use WebSearch+ on new tab page"
You can access these preferences by clicking on the lightning bolt on the lower left on the add-on bar and selecting Preferences.
If you don't have Personas Interactive or any Brand Thunder theme installed, but you are still seeing the new tab page, I apologize for that. It was an uninstall bug that is fixed on our latest version.
We created a restartless add-on that you can install that fixes the problem. It installs, fixes the problem, then uninstalls:
http://brandthunder.com/personas/fixnewtab/
If you would like to do this yourself, you can type about:config in the browser, search on browser.newtab.url in the Filter box and then right click on the preference and click reset.
