I'm using firefox 14 on ubuntu 12.04, my problem is page width is not right. On other pages zoom works fine, but that pages leaves blank parts at the sides if the zoom is such that there is no horizontal scroll bar. Is there no way to fit the page to screen without empty space on the sides or having the page not look as it should?

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
