I have just bought a Dell computer with a 27 inch screen. I can increase the size of the print in windows, but that seems to have no effect in Firefox.

All I can find in your "how to" pages is how to use programs, etc. Nothing about DISPLAY.

How can I make the TEXT bigger so that I can see it on this big screen?

Thank you very much

Turns out the tool bar in windows 8 is down at the bottom of the screen and hidden. It turned up with alt (not 10, however).

I don't know how I did it, but I finally found some addon option that would download and have managed to enlarge the font. For the basic Mozilla pages, at least. Still not for email. However, since internet explorer makes all type big, I'll just use it for email.

I hate to give up, but I guess the email program has a mind of its own.

You've been helpful, though I'm such a non geek, I don't know what you're talking about most of the time.

Thanks anyway, for getting me through this.

Use this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface:

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

You can increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of all fonts and other elements in Firefox.

In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.

I can't find anything that can be related to "tools. " Insofar as there is a toolbar, it has only a little house in it, no little gear.

ergo, I can't click on it to do as you say.

How do I find a toolbar??

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text of pages that use absolute positioning.

  • Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.
