more options

Firefox tries to load my last tab when I start it up instead of my homepage but it is not successful and gives me an error message "we're embarrassed "etc.

It also runs incredibly slowly.

This error probably happens after firefox crashed (or thinks it did). If you quit firefox and open it again it should show you your home page.

If taht's not the case and the "it's embarrassing .." error still shows then there is a problem with crash detection.

if some pages automatically loads on start up or your preferences not got saved then use following method:

1. Firefox orange button>help>Troubleshooting Information

2. Under Application Basics, click Open Containing Folder

3. there will be prefs.js, user.js and sessionstore.js

4. Delete all 3 files

5. restart and done.

There is a MacOSX specific bug in Firefox 20. If you close all pages before using Quit (or quitting by shutting down the system), Firefox crashes and shows that crash recovery screen at your next startup. The workaround is to Quit Firefox with at least one page still open. This should be fixed in a future version.
