First noticed in FF29 but may have happened earlier. The New Separator and New Space buttons are missing from buttons list in Customise.

How can I get them back?

Hello remoghibli,

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. The New Separator and Space buttons have been removed from this version of Firefox. If you'd like to add these back you can use the Classic Theme Restorer .

Please let us know if this answers your question.

Cheers, Patrick

Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.
With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar.

Dear Patrick,

Thank-you. I installed Classic Theme Restorer and I did indeed get those buttons back but did not like the look of the theme. I uninstalled Restorer and now the tabs are not as they were. I have lost the curves on the tabs. They are rectangular.

What now? Should I try reinstalling FF29?

Thank-you for your advice.

remoghibli

Sorry to bother you again. Interesting. I got back the curved tabs by disabling the Colorful Tabs extension. I will miss it.

So all is well for now.

I have tried a reinstall. Tabs are still wrong. I now have a hybrid. Neither the beauttiul new tabs nor the classic ones.

Please help me get back the original FF29 curved tabs. Thank-you.

Hello remoghibli,

It's hard to tell from the message above. Are you still having the issue?

I did get the buttons back but did not like the old theme. Uninstalled the Restorer extension after grabbing the separators I wanted but then my tabs were wrong (rectangular). Could only get the Australis tabs back by disabling the Colorful Tabs extension.

So yes, the Restorer is the solution but I did not want to sacrifice the new look. Also, it broke Colorful Tabs which was playing nicely with Australis until I installed Restorer and remained broken after I uninstalled Restorer. Why can't the new version just include the Space and Separator buttons?

Thank-you.

Thanks for the update remoghibli.

I'm sorry the theme didn't work out for you and I don't know the decision making around the removal of spaces and separators. If you'd like to leave the developers feedback on your desire to have spaces and separators back in Firefox, please use our Input Site.

Cheers, Patrick

Is there any way to restore the separators by pasting something into the chrome folder (some solution similar to the one that restores tabs on bottom)?

In case anyone is looking to restore tabs on bottom: @namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul); /* The above line should appear only once in the file */ #TabsToolbar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 99 !important }

It's pretty lame that in order to simply add a separator or space to a toolbar, you have to use an add-on that changes the entire look of Firefox. While Firefox still uses the separators themselves on some of its buttons, we are not deemed worthy of adding it to our toolbars.
