How do I update Flagfox?

more options

When I initially open Firefox, I see the following message at top of screen:

"Your installed version of Flagfox is now more than a few months old. Flagfox uses an internal IP address location database to look up server locations and thus some shown flags will begin to get progressively more inaccurate until you update to the current version."

I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to initiate the Flagfox update. Firefox's Help is of NO help. It doesn't even recognize the word "Flagfox" when typed into its Search field!

Flagfox is an add-on. Here is a link to its main page for reference: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flagfox/

Do you use it? If so, Firefox should be updating it in the background. If you have Firefox set to require your permission for add-on updates, check the Add-ons page for a list of pending updates. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

At the bottom of the left column, is there an entry for updates?

If Yes, click that to review and update.

If No, click Extensions, and then use the "gear" button above the list for "Check for updates" now.

Can you get Flagfox current?

If all else fails, you can just install again from the Add-ons site link and that should update it.
