I get that this is a free browser, does anyone have the time to help me find a setting?

In all other browsers, when you've visited one URL multiple times, the broser "remembers" that URL.

But after using firefox for >1 year, visiting "gmail.com" daily, the browser still refuses to remember that URL.

Secondly, the very few URLs it actually remembers, it never remembers the FULL URL. Let's say there's a site, where I only ever visit "site.com/location". All other browsers remember this, so next time I start typing the URL, the browser autocompletes the URL to "site.com/location".

HOWEVER firefox only completes the first half of the URL, so it assumes I want to visit "site.com" instead of "site.com/location".

Question: How do I get Firefox to start remembering ALL URLs that I visit often, and remember the full URL (not just the domain & TLD)?

Attempted fixes: Checked that history is turned on. (Yes) No other fixes found.

It's weird that it is only SOME URLs that are affected by the "can't remember URL-bug", for example "gmail.com".

gmail.com is not a valid URL and you get redirected to a Google webpage as you can see if you paste this URL in the location bar.

Firefox only remembers URLs you actually visit (i.e. the resulting URL) and you should have the Google URL in your history.
