Why am I getting text and image smears when I scroll seperate browser windows in Firefox 3.6.3?

I have been able to duplicate a text and image smearing issue when trying to scroll the contents of a secondary preview window open on the particular website provided below.

Double-clicking any of the thumbnails on the page opens up a smaller secondary preview window with a watermarked imaged. However when the contents of this window are scrolled (trackpad, mouse, keyboard) the entire pane gets smeared.

For example here's a screenshot: http://d.pr/4HzB

One thing to note is that this smearing does not occur if the same link is opened in new tab via a right click. When that's the case the preview scrolls smoothly with no smearing.

Can anyone advise why this is? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Do you have smooth scrolling enabled ?

Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General: Browsing: "Use smooth scrolling"

Yes smooth scrolling is enabled. Everything on my system is up-to-date. Have also tried disabling all my add-ons with no luck either.

Strangely this 'smearing' only occurs when a link clicked ends up opening a second smaller browser window with all the nav toolbar and bookmark elements hidden. Any of the preview images on gettyimages.com are the best examples I can find in terms of duplicating the issue.

However, if you make these drop down by hitting via the top right button the smearing goes away...hide them away and the smearing comes back.
