What is happening w ith Firefox - I am presently at v24.x? So many things seem to not work w/vista.

I am continually having to opem Chrome to accomplish things

  • With the last update, about 48 hours ago, LastPass began cooperating as it should wth Fire Fox: The icon appeared in the toolbar and everything worked properly. Lasted about 24 hours and now it's back to not working
  • After logging into many sites internal links do not work: eg:

>logged into my GoDaddy account today - some of the internal links would not work. >Logged in to my clinic - some internal links would not work >logged into my bank account - some internal links would not work >For the last few FireFox updates I have been unable to open a private page. >GoTo webinar: I have to download the app every time I want to attend a webinar. Chrome just opens/connects to the webinar.

  • About ninety or so percent of the time FireFox does not fully close when clicking the X in the upper right corner or going to file>exit. So I have to open the task manager to manualy end the 'process'. If I don't do that FireFox will not reopen.

Probably more but ... Again, I am having to open Chrome to get things to work properly. I don't like that.

I guess youve had Firefox on this machine for some time, maybe its time for a new profile?

If the new profile works you can transfer some files from the old one, to the new one.

The quickest fix may be to use the Firefox Reset

  1. First of all read the article Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
note you will lose some information.
  2. You may wish to close any unnecessary open tabs, and bookmark any remaining open. Also bookmark the homesites of any extensions you may wish to reinstall after the reset removes them.

Consider turning on telemetry as well

Try to avoid closing Firefox by any means other than the File-menu option. That should allow it to close down properly.

P.S. It is interesting to note you have both the standard Flash Player and Shockwave Director installed. Do you have any need for Shockwave Director ?

To all who answered: Thank You...

I eventually did the 'reset Firefox' function. After doing so I am now able to get the private window function to work. So I will presume my other problems are also taken care of - time will tell.

Thanks again Bob
